IMPACT Charity Project

CONNEX FOUNDATION IMPACT CHARITY PROJECT

Every year the Connex Foundation uses the talent and resources of multi-site facilities management professionals to support a non-profit organization in the maintenance and repair of their facility. Connex Foundation believes removing the facility maintenance and repair burden allows non-profits to effectively carry out their mission to support and impact their local community.

The IMPACT Charity Project has been a cornerstone of our organization since inception. Every year the Connex Foundation, Inc. uses the talent and resources of multi-site facilities management professionals to support a non-profit organization in the maintenance and repair of their facility. Connex Foundation, Inc. believes removing the facility maintenance and repair burden allows other non-profits to effectively carry out their mission to support and impact their local community.

In 2023 the IMPACT Charity Project Work Day will be held in Lewisville, TX on April 3, 2022. The Connex Foundation, Inc. will support Journey to Dream: Kyle’s Place, a non-profit serving as the only youth residential campus in Denton County for teens ages 14-19. Kyle’s Place provides stability and a family-like experience where youth can:

  • Cultivate a positive identity
  • Break negative cycles
  • Take ownership and map a plan for their future
  • Discover the life skills necessary to thrive in adulthood

In 2020, Kyle’s Place served 34 teens on campus, offering the essential elements of “home”: stability and the guidance and accountability of caring adults.

The Tribute Behind the Name

Kyle’s Place is named in honor of Kyle Milliman, a strong teen leader who cared greatly for others and often was the first to reach out to those struggling.

Kyle was a prominent leader in the Hebron High School “Journey to a Dream group”, now known as the “Dream Initiative.” Kyle encouraged and motivated his peers to abstain from substance abuse and embrace salvation through Christ. Kyle was always one of the first to make his way to comfort impacted students in the audience with his own personal “hug” ministry.

During his senior year at Hebron High School, Kyle struggled with depression and a football injury that sidelined his dream of playing in college. In 2012, Kyle tragically committed suicide. We honor his memory and remind ourselves of the life-saving importance of our mission by naming our residential campus program in his honor.

How Can You Elevate the Impact?

Connex Foundation, Inc., with the support of the IMPACT Committee, is working to gather information, resources, monetary donations, and in-kind donations to provide solutions for major facility obstacles Journey to Dream: Kyle’s place bears. Kyle’s Place is a 6,000 sq ft. building with the capacity to hold 19 beds and includes living and kitchen areas. There are major and minor repairs needed, appliances that need to be replaced, basic supply needs, beds/mattress needs, bedding, and more. We are looking for in-kind products, services, or monetary donations to support our efforts.

IN-KIND DONATIONS NEEDED

MONETARY DONATIONS NEEDED

Our project heavily relies on in-kind and monetary donations. We are raising funds to provide solutions for Kyle’s Place that we are not able to secure in-kind.
